Art means to speak up with cleverness.
I call artworks to all the pieces or actions I have generated under a context or with an artistic intention. These artworks, have the purpose of making an statement about an specific topic and to motivate a change on the environment where they are done. These artistic projects are under the influences of contemporary art; also, some of them have been made with digital tools and been exposed thanks to electronic media (social networks, mostly).
Below you will learn about the projects that I have done recently.
Imágenes Con Sentido
(Or, Images with sense) was my second art display in a museum as a solo artist. The statement of this exhibition points out the huge amount of images that surround us daily, via social media, for example, and how our critic sense is lost due to them. The purpose was to present images without any ther context besides their title, to motivate viewers to build interpretations of what they are seeing and not just expect a detailed explaination of it.
This exhibition took place from july to september, 2017, in Puebla, Mexico. You can read more information here (only spanish).
Quotes
“Quotes” is a collection of eleven graphic pieces, divided in two parts. The first part has 6 artworks in which a message, a quote, is read in a graphic way. At the same time, a simbology system is established, so the general concept is integrated with it. This is what I called a canvas multiplication, as a visual technique for this work of art. The intention, then, is about the construction of a wide range of interpretations by the observer, that can be as deep and sinuous as his own mentality.
"Quotes" was on display on january 2015, in the city of Xalapa, Mexico
#warholbanksying
"Warholbanksying" consists in locate at urban spaces, little stickers with a talking mouth illustration. It is an artistic project that involves two main aspects: technique and a manifesto. About the first one, it implies two artistic currents of great importance in the modern and contemporary art: Pop Art and Street Art, respectively. Thus, the project's title takes the names of the greatest figures of these forms of art, Andy Warhol in the case of Pop Art, and the mythical Banksy for the Street Art, blended on a gerund that indicates the continous action of the project. The stickers have been mass produced -following the warholian teaching-, while the urban spaces intervention it's a Banksy's artistic feature. The meaning of the speaking mouth drawing its about react and express, to speak up about what one feels and thinks, to know that, between everyday life, critic sense and thinking must not been lost, in an individual and social sense.
